1992

Northgate completely redesigns sister company Monaghan Medicals' intracorporeal electrohydraulic lithotripter product with updated spark gap technology. The product is re-introduced as the Autolith® bipolar Intracorporeal Electrohydraulic Lithotripter (IEHL®). Northgate also launches the first 1.9 Fr. Lithotripsy probes, enabling easier access to stones in the upper ureter and kidney.

NEBULAE™ System is a high flow laparoscopic insufflator system that provides a flow rate of up to 50 L per minute of temperature controlled CO₂ gas. It incorporates True Abdominal Pressure (TAP) technology that provides uninterrupted flow of gas to maintain a robust and consistent pneumoperitoneum. The highly visible, easy-to-use touch screen enables quick setup and provides intraoperative adjustments.

NTI expands the surgical environment portfolio with the introduction of the NEBULAE® SRS Laparoscopic Smoke Removal System. The groundbreaking innovation of the SRS is the first of its kind, operating as a closed-loop extension of the pneumoperitoneum, surgical smoke and plume is removed quickly while maintaining pneumoperitoneum pressure and reducing CO₂ usage. In addition to the functionality, the closed system also promotes zero exposure to surgical smoke and plume thus becoming a top safety device necessary in the OR.
